Standard Payment Terms

The Client agrees to pay the Hong Kong Speakers Bureau Limited (“Bureau”) 50% of the non-refundable speaker fee within 14 days upon confirmation of the assignment. The remaining shall be payable within 14 days after the conclusion of the last day of the assignment.

In the event of cancellation by the Client, the paid speaker fee plus any remaining speaker fee pro-rata to the assignment provided, shall be payable to the Bureau. Whereas the cancellation is initiated by the Bureau, any paid speaker fee out with the speaker fee pro-rata to the assignment, shall be refundable to the Client.

In the event of inclement weather that the assignment has to be postponed, no additional fee shall be charged to the client. In the event of assignment cancellation due to inclement weather, any paid speaker fee out with the speaker fee pro-rata to the assignment, shall be refundable to the Client.

All intellectual properties related to the assignment shall belong to the Speaker and the Bureau respectively. The assignment does not automatically transfer any such rights to the Client, its employees, agents or any persons attending the assignment.

The Bureau shall ensure the Speaker will be present to conduct the assignment. In the event of unforeseen unavailability of the Speaker, the Bureau, subject to the agreement of the Client, shall arrange another speaker of comparable professionalism and experience for the assignment.

The Bureau shall be responsible for the design of the assignment, its customization and behind-the-scenes coordination. The Client shall be responsible for venue or online platform preparation, required software and equipment, and any associated cost.

The Bureau shall be responsible for any equipment’s delivery expenses and support staff’s logistical expenses, for equipment and staff arranged by the Bureau.

The Client shall be responsible for any applicable public liability insurance at the venue of the assignment.
